On January 11th, immediately following the 5:00PM Mass, the Parish Choir and members of our Parish Music Ministry will perform a short encore concert featuring selections from our Parish Christmas Concert. Plan on coming to the Vigil Mass on January 11th and staying with us for about 35 minutes afterwards. This would be a great opportunity to hear one last note of Christmas music before the Christmas Season ends!
We wish you all a very Happy New Year. May it be a year filled with God’s grace and joy. New Year’s Day is the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God. It is a holy day of obligation to attend Mass. The vigil Mass for the Holy Day is 5 pm on New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Day Masses are 8, 10, and 12.
St. Christopher Parish will have a Holy Hour in the Church from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22nd. We will pray that our government show a greater respect for all life from conception to natural death. We will also pray for the safe travel of those who will gather in Washington D.C. from all parts of our country the next day to protest the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision. Please invite your friends and join in the prayer on the 22nd.
In addition to our usual Saturday Morning (8:30) and Afternoon (3:45) Confessions, there will be several priests available in the Church at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10th. They will remain in Church as long as there are people wishing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. What a grace to receive in preparation for Christmas!
With the coming of the Christmas season, we will continue our Secret Santa initiative. If you would like to participate in this venture, you can drop off your donation at the parish office or you can place it in the regular collection in an envelope with the words “Secret Santa” on it. Last year we were able to help a number of families have a nicer meal for Christmas and to give more worthwhile presents for their children.
