Adult Altar Servers are parishioners who are specially trained to assist the priest at funerals and other special Masses.
Outside of a desire to provide support to families during the loss of a loved one, our dedicated team of volunteers also have a love of the liturgy and are able to serve at funeral Masses with at least two days advance notice, when their schedules allow, and assist in set-up and clean-up for each Mass.

Altar Servers are student parishioners in the fifth grade and above who are specially trained to assist the priest at weekend masses, weddings and special occasions.
Training is offered in the Spring of each year, and trainees shadow veteran servers for several Masses before becoming part of the assigned rotation.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered at the 10:00am Sunday Mass for children ages 3 through 10. After Mass begins, the children follow an adult leader from the church through the Adoration Chapel, where they gather to share the Liturgy of Word at their own level. The children rejoin the larger assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
For more information about Children's Liturgy of the Word, please contact the Parish Office.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) help to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to the community. These ministers help the priest and deacon in their ministry. Another part of the ministry of an EMHC is bringing Christ to homebound parishioners.
Initial formation and training are offered on an as needed basis and EMHC generally serve at two Masses per month.

The St Christopher's faith family takes great pride in the number of gifted volunteers who contribute their time and talents to enhance the liturgies in our parish. It is their goal to be a support to the whole congregation, allowing Full, Conscious Active Participation (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy) in Mass.
The Adult Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings in the church. One does not have to be a soloist to join the choir; the only requirement is that you enjoy singing!
Cantors have special musical skill and provide musical leadership at all Masses, as well as at weddings and other special liturgies. A commitment to this leadership role and a dedication to spiritual development is vital for the Cantor ministry.
Instrumentalists have special musical skill and compliment and support the singing of the choirs and congregation at all Masses, as well as at other special liturgies.

Ushers greet and help seat parishioners and visitors, take up the collection, guide the way to receive the Eucharist, and handle any emergencies.
Initial formation and training are offered, and Ushers typically serve on rotating basis.
We care for the sacred linens on a rotating schedule. The ministry is made up of volunteers who launder and iron the linens used on the altar during Mass.
If you want to do something but are not able to do anything outside your home, this ministry might be for you. The linens used during Mass need to be laundered and ironed on a weekly basis. Detailed instructions will be given when you inquire about this Ministry.
