The Knights of Columbus was founded in March 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. It has grown to support refugee relief, Catholic education, local parishes and dioceses, and global Catholic social and political causes. Founded on the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent was to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members and their families.
St. Christopher Council #17997 was formed on May 17, 2022, at St. Christopher Parish with 28 charter members. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM in Holy Family Hall. - We come from many places, backgrounds, and stages in our lives but we are all one faith. Our goal is to help men, their families and our parish grow closer to Christ. Through our various programs and resources we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith. We challenge you to put your faith in action!

(Helping Other People in an Emergency) - People are needed to visit the homebound and perform small tasks (friendly conversation, shopping, errands, transportation to appoints, etc.) when needed. Volunteers with H.O.P.E. give a bit of themselves and their time to help parishioners needing assistance with transportation. When family, friends or neighbors are unavailable, H.O.P.E. volunteers drive locally (five to ten miles) to take parishioners where they need to go: doctor appointments, shopping, errands, church. Always free to say “not available” to a request, H.O.P.E. volunteers generally rotate on a three-week cycle. If you can help with this much needed and very rewarding ministry, please call the parish office, 215-673-5177.
Scouting - Scouting has been around since 1910, and has been a part of St. Christopher parish for more than 60 years. Our scouting consists of Cub Scout Pack 367 for boys and girls in Kindergarten through fifth grades and Scout Troop 367 for boys and girls in grade 6 through their 18th birthday. Emphasis is placed on Strong Values, Strong Leaders and Character that Counts. Adults with proper clearances are needed to help scouts working for merit badges, to help supervise at meetings and camping trips, and to act as mentors. If interested in becoming involved with Scouts, please contact Matt and Marge Cronin at 215-677-8413, or by email at [email protected]

St. Christopher Parish is excited to announce a very special partnership with Catholic Health Care Services with the addition of Geriatric Care Management Services to the list of Community Building Ministries offered by our parish. This initiative, primarily funded through a very generous donation, is helping seniors in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, and Bucks Counties.
Care Managers educate older parishioners and their caregivers regarding the myriad of choices available to them and help families navigate the complex world of government agencies, healthcare and general aging services. We help individuals stay in their homes safely and support the transition to and from home, hospital, rehabilitation facility, assisted living facility and skilled nursing facility. By providing information, referrals and in home evaluations, we create a plan tailored to individual needs and preferences, acting as both an advocate and liaison between the senior, their family and involved organizations. We provide services such as:
Our mission is to ensure that older members of the parish enjoy independence and the highest quality of life in their homes and in our parish community. To learn more about The St. Christopher Elder Care Program and what it means to you, please call the St. Chris Parish Office at 215-673-5177 extension 36
Once a year we hold a beautiful service in our church: the Healing Mass. Anyone who needs physical, spiritual or emotional healing is invited to be a part of the liturgy.
Following the Mass, there is a luncheon in our Parish Hall. It is a wonderful occasion for fellowship, conversation and sharing a meal together.
If you are interested in helping plan the luncheon, please ontact the parish office.
The mission of Caring for Friends is to alleviate the hunger and loneliness of isolated homebound individuals. Our volunteers visit with client friends throughout the five-county Greater Philadelphia region, providing home-cooked meals and life-enhancing friendship. All our services are provided free of charge.
Meals are prepared by volunteers, stored in freezers in Holy Family Hall and other churches throughout the region and distributed by our visitor volunteers in once weekly visits to their client friends. Most of our friends are elderly individuals who could not otherwise remain in their homes without the support of the meals we provide.
