Council Members
Flora Caranci
Flora has been a parishioner of St. Christopher’s for sixteen
years and was newly appointed to the Pastoral Council by Monsignor
Garvin. Flora and her husband Angelo have been married for fifteen
years and have four children. Flora is currently involved with
various community functions, such as the Adopt-A-Family program
and the Kids-N-Hope Foundation hosted by her employer, American
Heritage Federal Credit Union. Flora is the Vice President of
Human Resources and has been with American Heritage for nineteen
years.
Maryhelen Franks
A member of St. Christopher for nearly 40 years, Maryhelen and
her husband have raised 4 children, all of whom attended St. Chris
and Ryan. aryhelen is an active volunteer in the parish at the
Parish Office, the school and as a Catechist for 1st grade CCD
children. Maryhelen and her husband are also “Senior Stuffers”
helping with the school envelopes and also assisting with Scrip
sales.
Jeanne Gamache
Jeanne grew up and attended parish schools in West Philadelphia
and graduated from West Catholic High School. Actively involved
in the parish, Jeanne and her husband Maury helped form the St.
Christopher’s 50+ Club and served as president for 3 years and
Treasurer for 3 years.Jeanne’s 3 children all attended St. Christopher
and Archbishop Ryan. A parishioner at St. Chris for 38 years,
Jeanne and her husband enjoy their time with their 8 grandchildren.
Peg Kenny
Peg Kenny has been a parishioner at St. Christopher for 10
years. She is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist
and heads the newly formed Stewardship Committee. She was
elected to the Pastoral Council in 2002 and as head of the Stewardship
Committee is now serving as an Ex-Officio member of the Council.
Peg has been married to her husband Dan for 31 years, and is the
mother of four grown daughters
Liz Kenney
Parish Council member since 2004; Wife; Mother of Taylor, Paige,
Devon, Tripp and Carter, past, current and future students of
St. Christopher School. Parish volunteer, school volunteer, Executive
Director of the Catholic Leadership Conference, an organization
comprised of lay leaders of national Catholic apostolate. Graduate
of Central Bucks High School West and University of Delaware.
Richard Malamut
Baptized at St. Christopher’s on Easter Vigil 1996, and currently
a member of the St. Christopher Charismatic Prayer Group, mentor
of St. Christopher Youth Group, member of Adoration Society, Extraordinary
Minister of Holy Communion. Father of 3 children; youngest child
attending St. Christopher’s School in the 8th grade. Admitted
to the St. Charles Borromeo Permanent Diaconate Program, currently
in the 1st year of a 6 year Program.
Robert McLernan
Robert was a teacher and disciplinarian in several Philadelphia
Archdiocesan High Schools including Bishop Neuman, Father Judge
and North Catholic for over 30 years and continues to work in
the Discipline Department at Judge. Married for over 40 years,
they have raised 5 children and are enjoying time with their 16
grandchildren.
Greg Olenski
Greg has resided in St. Christopher’s Parish for 20 years and
was appointed to the Pastoral Council in 2004. Greg and his wife
Karen, a lifetime resident of Somerton and a graduate of St. Christopher’s
School, were married in the parish and they have one son, Gregory,
who is an altar server and was a team member of the 2005 state
finalist Boy’s CYO Basketball team. Greg attended Cardinal Dougherty
High School and Widener University.
Michael E. Van Thuyne
Mike currently serves as a member on both the Pastoral Council and
Finance Committee at St. Christopher.

Mike and his wife Phyllis administer the parish Pre-Cana Program
involving engaged couples preparing for their upcoming
marriage and also serve as Eucharistic Ministers.
